Winery & Facilities

With a tasting room set in a renovated
1886 farmhouse decorated with elegant wood, antique fixtures and furniture and
a modern processing and banquet facility,
Whyte Horse Winery is the result of vision and a passion for fine wines.

The charming lakes resort community of Monticello, Indiana, is where you will find Whyte Horse Winery.

The farmhouse we renovated was built in 1886 and was part of a large land holding on the south side of Monticello. At first I wanted to tear it down but, my wife put her gift of decorating and vision to work. She made the right decision. We have large porches around the house and the winery with lots of rocking chairs for your enjoyment. We have added a music-filled garden for relaxing with friends. A vineyard at the back of the property compliments a 12 ft. gazebo, surrounded by a grassy area that will seat around 200 people facing the west, capturing awesome sunsets. This is a beautiful setting for special events and weddings or just for strolling through with a glass of wine.

The farmhouse winery has a handmade cherry tasting bar. Our gift shop is decorated with antiques from that era and offers wine accessories and gifts for sale. Specialized baskets can be made to order, salsas and dips and Fair Oak cheeses are also available. The upstairs has a small conference room for business meetings, restrooms and our offices.

The winery and processing facility is adjacent to our banquet facility that will seat 75 for a catered lunch, dinner or event. It has a 20 ft hand- made tasting bar with a mirrored back bar that was built in 1890. The processing area is visible from this area and is equipped with tanks made in Italy and oak barrels made in France. Call for a taste and tour. Come and ‘Dine with the Wine’ for a pleasant and unique experience.

We will have the gazebo/vineyard seating available in summers for weddings, art fairs and music events.

Don’t forget about our grounds, gazebo and vineyard, available, weather permitting for weddings, art fairs, music events, meetings or any special celebrations. Call the winery for rental details.
